| Service Details | - Assists and empowers urban Aboriginal families involved with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) - Attends investigations, family group conferences, safety planning meetings, and court to give input and support to the Aboriginal families involved - Works closely with the Family Support Workers and the A&D Counselling services, CAPC, AIDP Outreach and all other KFS programs to ensure the families receive the support and services they need in a culturally appropriate manner - Provides support for families involved, or at risk of being involved with the Ministry of Children and Family Development - Works cooperatively with families and the Ministry to support goals promoting child safety, parenting and lifeskills - Supports families emotionally and advocates for them - Connects families to other resources such as the health unit, legal aid, and the food bank |
