Description & Services
Service Details | - Offers a physical fitness and social program for people experiencing early memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia with a friend, family member or care partner - Participants will stay physically active, meet and socialize with others living with dementia, get involved in activities such as ping pong, bingo, or other games, and have access to information about dementia and services as needed - The first component is a 45-minute low-impact fitness class lead by a fitness instructor - The staff and volunteers from the Alzheimer Society of BC welcome participants to social/activity time with light refreshments in the second part of the program |
Eligibility | This program is designed for people with early symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia, such as memory loss, confusion, communication difficulties and changes in mood and behaviour, and is intended to be enjoyed with a care partner |
How to Apply | Registration occurs through the recreation centres where Minds in Motion takes place. We encourage you to attend a trial session prior to registering. For additional information, please email or phone |
