Service Details | - Operates the Aboriginal Supported Child Development Program that serves Westbank First Nation and Aboriginal families on Reserve - Enables Aboriginal children who require extra supports to be included in child care, preschool or after school care settings when their parents/caregivers are working and/or going to school - Ensures culturally safe and sensitive service to children who are experiencing delays in the areas of development: physical (gross and fine motor skills), cognitive, communicative, social/emotional and cultural/spiritual - Family-centered program focuses on the family determining both the need for support and the goals for their child - Supports include one-to-one, centre staff education, loan of specialized equipment, and parent education/support |
Eligibility | Ages: 12 year(s) and under - Westbank First Nation and on-Reserve Aboriginal families - Operates in the Westbank First Nation Child Development Centre and After School Program, the Sensisyusten Junior Kindergarten (preschool program) and community daycare/preschool programs |
