Emergency Support Services Central Okanagan, Provincial Emergency Program
The RDCO Emergency Support Services team relies on volunteers whose aid is invaluable when an emergency arises in the Central Okanagan. ESS provides short-term assistance to those who are forced to leave their homes because of fire, floods, earthquakes or other emergencies. Volunteers are needed in both Lake Country and Peachland to serve their communities in times of disaster whether it’s one individual or thousands affected, by assisting in providing food, clothing, lodging & family reunification.

Inn from the Cold - Kelowna
Inn from the Cold – Kelowna, 1157 Sutherland Ave, offering a total shelter capacity of 35, provides emergency overnight shelter to people living on the street during the coldest winter months, Nov-Apr.  
Offers a minimal-barrier shelter serving the most vulnerable homeless members of our community * women and men are welcomed * a vulnerability assessment to determine bed allocation is completed at intake * intake is completed upon referral (self or agency) * beds are assigned for duration of stay * 31 beds are made available, AND 4 are reserved for late night emergency referrals from hospital, RCMP or self-referral * The following are prioritized for service: 
- Couples and adult family members 
- Persons with pets 
- Does not access other shelters 
- Transgendered individuals 
- Persons who work past curfew times (sex trade and traditional employment) 
- Unable to access other services due to bans, time limits, red zone court orders, personal conflicts etc. 
There four different volunteer shifts available: reception, overnight, mornings, or food shifts.

Hands In Service provides individuals, groups, businesses, and churches an opportunity to transform the life of someone in our community. Our Energetic Hands Volunteers provide ongoing cleaning and cooking support for Hands In Service clients who are unable to perform basic household tasks for themselves due to illness or disability. Volunteers cook and clean for clients on an ongoing basis, providing practical and relational support.

Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs
Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who would like to become a part of our Community Ambassadors Team. This volunteer experience will give you a chance to connect with the community in a positive way by providing activities and information to all those who come out and enjoy our events and community initiatives. 
Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs participate in community events and fundraisers throughout the year in the Okanagan Valley. You can participate in community days, golf tournaments, fairs, and much more. In doing so, you will be helping us increase support by sharing information on our many programs and services offered from Osoyoos to Enderby. 
You may be available at certain times of the year and not other times… that’s okay, we’re flexible. 
You may be interested in travelling throughout the valley or would prefer to volunteer in your own community… that’s okay too, we’re flexible. 
You may want to volunteer with a friend or family member... that's great! 
You want to make a difference to children, youth and families in our communities... you will.  
Orientation and training will be provided to all Community Ambassadors, as well as support and recognition.
