Alzheimer Society of BC, North & Central Okanagan
Minds in Motion is a fitness and social program for people experiencing early-stage memory loss due to Alzheimer's disease or another dementia and a friend, family member or care partner. A 45-minute fitness program is followed by 45 minutes of socializing and activities such as words games, discussion topics, board games, etc.
Volunteers assist the fitness instructor and the Minds in Motion Coordinator to ensure everyone has the opportunity to be included, has an enjoyable experience, and is able to participate in activities and socializing. This may include spending one-to-one time with participants who need extra support. Assist with the setup and clean up of refreshments, and with games and activities for the social part of the program.
