We ask for a commitment of at least one 4-hour shift per week, cashier experience or handyman skills would be great, but not necessary as we have lots of other positions as well. We need sorters (clothing, knickknacks, seasonal items, books, etc.), strong arms to help with shipping/receiving, and the moving of furniture, etc., good organizers for both the back room operations as well as the various departments on the floor, people with a knack for electronics testing/repair, and anyone else who wants to lend a hand – we will find something for you!
Mission Thrift Stores convert donated used goods into revenue so that BFM Foundation (Canada) may, through a Joint Ministry with Bible League Canada, transform peoples’ lives through the Living Word of God. Also we share with and support other non-profit organizations throughout Kelowna.
At Mission Thrift Stores, volunteers play a crucial role in the success of our organization. Thrift Store volunteers are made up of people of all ages and backgrounds. We aim to create a place where volunteers feel in community with one another and a place where people enjoy coming to help us in our mission. Another focus is being good stewards of the earth God has given us. It is imperative that all our stores are environmentally conscious, and follow what is outlined in our “Green for the Gospel” platform
