The Unit Facilitator (UF) is a leadership position that facilitates the smooth, efficient operation of the Program on a community level. The UF team leader is responsible for providing the coordination, training and support to a local Therapy Dog Unit. Volunteers are responsible for maintaining communication between handlers, facilities and head office; on boarding new members; scheduling team meetings as necessary; and distributing and maintaining uniforms, among others. The time commitment will vary depending on the season and can fluctuate between 15-20 hours per month. Most of the work can be completed from home and scheduling is very adaptable to the team’s specific needs. This role can be split between several volunteers as desired.
