It’s a simple concept: rather than focusing on an individual’s disabilities, look instead at the things that are stopping them from doing what they want to do, and find a way to overcome these barriers. That always was the philosophy of Tetra founder Sam Sullivan. It explains how Tetra works, and how our volunteers think.
If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you.
Technical volunteers do not have to be engineers – just practical-minded people with a mechanical aptitude. Each Tetra Chapter should ideally have a mix of skills...woodworkers, electricians, millwrights to experts in metalwork or fiberglass, to just your average handy person, we can use your assistance in whatever capacity you can give. Some Volunteers are only on when needed, others like to be super involved...it’s up to you, give us try, and you’ll wonder what took you so long to find this perfect volunteering opportunity. The amount of commitment is flexible, our group will work with you, cause that’s what we do!
There are a lot of opportunities for volunteers in our community. Depending on your interests, skills, and goals, we can work with you to provide volunteer opportunities that meet your needs, and the needs of our residents. Volunteer roles can include assisting with recreation programs, assisting in our ice cream parlour, visiting residents 1:1.
