Okanagan Fruit Tree Project
The Okanagan Fruit Tree Project is a registered charity that aims to reduce hunger by turning backyard fruit trees into a source of healthy food for the community. Fruit and vegetables are harvested by a team of energetic volunteers and shared with local organizations like the Food Banks, Schools, seniors programs, shelters and many more. Since our start in 2012, we have picked thousands of pounds of fresh fruit with over 400 volunteers.

Pre-inspect fruit trees to ensure they are bug-free and ripe for picking:

- Tag along with our wonderful Tree Care specialist, Bob McCoubrey, and learn about fruit tree care and how to tell when different fruits are perfect for picking
- After you’ve received some training, the coordinator will contact you to check out upcoming fruit trees to see if they are in good condition for picking

This is a more flexible, on-call opportunity.
