What will you do: 
Working collaboratively as part of an experienced team of trained responders and supervisors, you will: Conduct client needs assessment to determine immediate and short-term needs of clients for items such as shelter, food, clothing, and transportation; Provide emotional care and comfort to clients; Provide referrals to partner agencies and other community-based groups for services; Work with your team and your supervisor to ensure response supplies are always properly stocked and available; Work with your team and your supervisor to ensure the overall health, safety and security of the team you work with; Conduct emergency preparedness activities.

Client Services Volunteer   Kelowna  Lake Country  Peachland  Westside

Reporting to the Team Lead, this position provides frontline contact for in-person and telephone inquiries from the public with a primary responsibility to provide loans and accept returns of health equipment. The Canadian Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program is a short-term loan service which provides medical equipment (with medical referral) to people in need on a donation basis.
Therapy Dog Unit Facilitator   Kelowna  Lake Country  Peachland  Westside

The Unit Facilitator (UF) is a leadership position that facilitates the smooth, efficient operation of the Program on a community level. The UF team leader is responsible for providing the coordination, training and support to a local Therapy Dog Unit. Volunteers are responsible for maintaining communication between handlers, facilities and head office; on boarding new members; scheduling team meetings as necessary; and distributing and maintaining uniforms, among others. The time commitment will vary depending on the season and can fluctuate between 15-20 hours per month. Most of the work can be completed from home and scheduling is very adaptable to the team’s specific needs. This role can be split between several volunteers as desired.

Pathways Abilities Society
The Activity Group Assistant volunteers in Pathways Activity Service and/or the Social Recreation service. The activity group is supported by a Pathways employee, and the Activity Group Assistant interacts with people who are participating in the activity. The Activity Group Assistant offers encouragement and guidance, and input regarding the activity structure. Activity groups encompass a wide range of interests.

Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs
Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who would like to become a part of our Community Ambassadors Team. This volunteer experience will give you a chance to connect with the community in a positive way by providing activities and information to all those who come out and enjoy our events and community initiatives. 
 
Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs participate in community events and fundraisers throughout the year in the Okanagan Valley. You can participate in community days, golf tournaments, fairs, and much more. In doing so, you will be helping us increase support by sharing information on our many programs and services offered from Osoyoos to Enderby. 
 
You may be available at certain times of the year and not other times… that’s okay, we’re flexible. 
You may be interested in travelling throughout the valley or would prefer to volunteer in your own community… that’s okay too, we’re flexible. 
You may want to volunteer with a friend or family member... that's great! 
You want to make a difference to children, youth and families in our communities... you will.  
 
Orientation and training will be provided to all Community Ambassadors, as well as support and recognition.

What will you do 
Working collaboratively as part of an experienced team of trained responders, supervisors and a site manager, you will: 
Conduct emergency preparedness activities; Assess the needs of those affected by an emergency event; Provide services such as shelter, food, clothing, registration of evacuees; Provide emotional care and comfort within an emergency shelter, community reception centre, community recovery centre or through outreach activities in the community.

Halloween Haunt Fundraiser. Volunteer will be in charge of an activity station for kids, hand out prizes, assist in Halloween haunt set up and clean up.
